Music & Memories of WWII: Join ARC and Rita Meland for a four-part music enrichment series on the second Wednesday of each month starting onJuly 18th at 10:30 AM. Register for July 18th’s presentation at ARC or by calling 888-9099. Do you know and love the songs of the WWII era? From “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” to “Sentimental Journey,” we will remember the top songs of the Hit Parade: 1941 - 1945. Come learn and reminisce in this first of a series of classes studying music and history. Rita Meland, pianist and music educator, will perform live and lead the discussion. We will also look at the top-grossing films, best-selling novels as well as the prominent big-band leaders, composers and singers. So, “Take the A Train” or the “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “You’ll Never Know” just how much you might like this presentation unless you give it a try!
How to Use Google Docs & Sheets: Join David Hernandez, IT for Normal Township, on July 23rd & 30th from 9 - 11 AM for a FREE class on how to use Google Docs and Sheets. In this class, you will learn how to access your Gmail account, access Google Docs/Sheets, create, edit and save documents online for free, enhance a document, share a document, and save a document in Google Docs/Sheets. If you have your own Wifi enabled laptop or tablet, bring it to class. To register for this class call ARC at 888-9099. Space is limited.
Woundcare Awareness with a Doctor: Dr. Marlito Favila of the Advocate BroMenn Wound Center will discuss Wound Care Awareness on July 26th at 10:30 AM. There are 6.7 million Americans living with a chronic, non-healing wound. Chronic wounds have a $50 billion impact on the healthcare system annually. Often, patients are not aware of the seriousness of their wound and delay telling their physician. The Advocate BroMenn Wound Center utilizes a comprehensive approach to wound management by using the latest tools and technology. Every treatment plan is customized and evaluated by certified physicians and nurses. Successful therapies might include hyperbaric oxygen, prescription growth factors, bio-engineered skin grafting, edema management, and non-invasive vascular assessment. How to Use GPS on Your Android Phone: Planning a trip this summer? Then learn how to use your GPS! Nancy Komlanc, Tech Tutor, will go over Step-by-Step written instructions on how to use your Android GPS AND practice finding locations with your phone. Join us in the Conference Room onJuly 31st from 9:00 to 10:30 AM for the "Find your way using GPS" and learn to: Find directions between 2 locations, turn on your "Location" so the satellite can find you, turn on the voice/sound to hear them, choose between route options, etc., find restaurants or gas stations close to where you are locate.$15; class size limited to 15 people per session * Bring your Android (or Droid) Smartphone.
