Around the Town Symphony Orchestra: The Illinois Symphony Orchestra's Around the Town Concerts allow you to Listen LIVE to the talented musicians of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra in a variety of locations throughout the community. The ensemble will be performing “String Sextet No. 1, Op. 18” By Johannes Brahms: Violin I, Roy Meyer, Violin II, Erik Rohde, Viola I, Nicholas Jeffery, Viola II, Lisa Nelson, Violoncello I, Ruth Marshall, Violoncello II, Amy Catron. McLean County History Museum: Well-Dressed Folks: Join the McLean County History Museum May 2nd at 10:30 AM for a fun experience talking about old fashion trends. Seniors share memories about fashion trends, habits, and styles that were popular in their lifetime by looking at clothing, advertisements, and other objects from 1920 to 1960. ISU Audiology: Tinnitus: Alyssa Seeman, Doctor of Audiology at ISU, will speak on the topic of tinnitus on May 9th at 10:30 AM. Tinnitus is any sound, often ringing, buzzing, or humming, that someone hears in their ears or head. This affects millions of Americans to various degrees. Dr. Seeman is an expert in the treatment of tinnitus and will lead a discussion on the many factors that influence a person's experience with tinnitus as well as some effective treatment options. Pickleball Boot Camp: For those who have an understanding of the game, join us Saturday, May 12th from 8 AM to 12 PM. Cost: $40.00.Pickleball Boot Camp consists of four hours filled with strategy, tips and drills to help improve your game. You will be taught proper court positioning and movement, the dink game, the 3rd shot, and many other skills and strategies. You will also practice volleys. Instructor: Mike Mitchell, Pickleball Ambassador.Sign up at ARC. Payment is due upon registration.
Registration opens April 23rd.
May Days Dance: Join us at ARC for our May Days Dance on May 17th from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Cost is $5.00 per person. Music will be provided by Mark & Melisa, and popcorn, water and coffee will be available. You may bring one non-member guest. Registration at ARC is preferred, although walk-ins will be accepted.
