Considering volunteering at ARC?

Purpose and Vision:

Volunteers help us fulfill our mission of providing seniors in our community a friendly, supportive atmosphere in which to stay active, to socialize, and to receive the health support and assistance services they need to have a successful aging experience.

Staff will help you find the volunteer opportunity that fits your interests and schedule.  Ongoing volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  •  Front Greeter/Café Attendants: Provide tours to prospective members, keep the coffee and coffee supplies adequately stocked at the counter, keep tables and counters clean, portion out bakery items when available for distribution in the café.
  • Library Attendants: Keep the shelves orderly and process donations.  This is more of a sharing library than a check out library.  No need to bring books back!
  • Gardening: Assist with watering plants and maintaining landscape areas.
  • Teach a class or lead a program/activity
  • Assist with popcorn on movie days

For more information, please contact Jeanne Whitehill at or by phone at 309-888-9099 or fill out the form below.  Once your application is received, staff will contact you for an interview.

Volunteer Policy: If a volunteer will need to miss a scheduled shift, he or she must notify Jeanne Whitehill, one week in advance.  Emergencies will be handled as the need arises.

ARC's volunteer program is suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
